Natalie Unterstell is on a mission to build a climate-resilient and emissions-free world. She currently serves as the President of Talanoa, a renowned climate policy think tank in Brazil. Furthermore, she holds the position of Chair for the Green Climate Fund's Accreditation Panel, since 2023. Throughout her career, Natalie has played pivotal roles in shaping climate policy. Notably, she served as the Director of Sustainable Development for the Brazilian Presidency and held influential positions at the Amazonas State's Climate Change Center and the Brazilian Environmental Ministry, where she focused on climate change and forests. As a climate negotiator at the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change, she cont to crucial agreements aimed at halting and reversing deforestation. Beyond her professional accomplishments, Natalie Unterstell is actively engaged in various boards and initiatives, including the Council of Rio de Janeiro City, Sistema B, SOS Mata Atlantica, the Columbia Climate Center in Rio de Janeiro, the Women's League for the Oceans, and the fama re.capital. Her contributions to the field have earned her well-deserved recognition, including being named an environmental leader by the Center for Public Leadership at Harvard University. She was also honored as one of Apolitica's "100 Most Influential People" in 2021. Natalie's impact extends to her appointments on key committees, such as the Economic Affairs Committee of the President's Council on Economic and Social Development, where her expertise is instrumental in shaping economic instruments for climate policy. Unterstell received an MPA from the Kennedy School of Government, a BBA from the Fundação Getulio Vargas and is a Climate Adaptation Finance expert certified by the Frankfurt School of Finance.
